JazzFest Regina - June 16 to June 19, 2011
 Welcome to JazzFest Regina - our 2011
event is starting to shape up to be the best one yet. Already, we have received
word that a number of top performers are wanting to appear for the event and we
have lined up The Regina Inn, Victoria Park and a number of clubs throughout the
city as venues where our artists will be performing.
JazzFest Regina welcomes artists from all over
North America and from Victoria to Halifax in Canada. We’ve opened the doors to
a brand-new type of festival to our city that loves to celebrate culture.
In the past, JazzFest Regina has held upwards of
11 free performances in Victoria Park, coupled with a beer garden and a great
atmosphere. The free stage shows in Victoria Park are a hit with over 1,000
people visiting and enjoying JazzFest Regina. In addition to the free stages,
JazzFest Regina offers Jazz and festival lovers alike a chance to catch
world-renowned acts like Mose Allison, Chris Potter, Ryan Cohan, and Cedar
Walton at ticketed events at the Regina Inn the “Jazz Hotel”, while in Regina.
This year we’re working even harder to make this
festival one of the most dynamic and vibrant festivals in Canada. Working with
industry leaders in technical direction, and experienced professionals from the
event production industry, this festival is sure to grow exponentially each
year.
This event takes place Downtown and in Victoria
Park. The venue is the heart of our city, and this festival brings the soul.
The festival, which runs from June 16th
to June 19th, will feature free stages with 17 performances, 4
exclusive ticketed events at the Regina Inn, and a festival atmosphere
encouraged with a beer garden and a vendor market for guests and participants of
the festival to enjoy. We are also working with venues around the city to
incorporate an after-hours program, where our jazz musicians will perform
late-night shows in more intimate settings.
 With
the new Downtown Neighborhood Plan in the final stage of development and
scheduled to open this summer, festivals like this are directly in line with the
vision of a vibrant and vital Downtown neighborhood. Growth breeds growth and
as such, an investment into JazzFest Regina 2011 is an investment into the
future of our city’s revitalization and future prosperity.
